Support Your Child's Education at the Ella Baker School
Family contributions are the most important source of income for the Ella Baker School PTA. Your generosity and support enables the PTA to be a partner along with the Department of Education in providing your child an exceptional educational experience. As the school year begins, please consider forwarding your contribution to the EBS PTA as soon as possible. Our suggested PTA contribution this year is $150 per student. Do not allow our suggested amount to prevent you from giving more or less depending on your circumstances. You may make periodic contributions if that is more convenient for you. The Ella Baker School PTA holds an IRS designation of a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization. Contributions to the EBS PTA are TAX-DEDUCTIBLE, Tax ID #46-4610492.

You can contribute by credit card using PayPal, see donation ink below. Please be sure to select the “Family and Friends” option of payment otherwise PayPal will charge a 3% fee for each transaction. Fundraising Opportunities for our Kids!
PTA dues are the major way that parents raise money for the school, and we depend on all our families to participate to whatever extent they are able. Parents contribute $75 per semester, or $150 per year—sometimes more, sometimes less. All amounts are welcome! Donations can be made online via PayPal or by making a check out to the Ella Baker PTA and leaving it in the PTA mailbox in the main office.
Bake Sales & Book Fairs
Throughout the year, we host several festive on-site fundraiser events at the school. You can help out by donating your time to work at the event, purchasing books and baked goods, or donating treats for the bake sale.
Additionally, here are some ways you can help raise money for the school—many of them through purchases that you are already making:
If you use Amazon, a portion of the money you spend could go back to the Ella Baker School. Go to smile.amazon.com and designate “Ella Baker PTA” as your charity. (Please note that you must search for “Ella Baker PTA” — it won't populate if you type in Ella Baker School.) Then on subsequent visits, just remember to go to smile.amazon.com instead of amazon.com. When you shop, the AmazonSmile Foundation will donate 0.5% of the purchase price of eligible products to our school.
Mighty Nest is a site for healthy and environmentally friendly household products, including a great selection of kids’ reusable lunch gear. Go to mightynest.com and select Ella Baker School during checkout. Mighty Nest donates 15% of the order price to Ella Baker School.
Many cereals, energy bars, and other boxed foods that you already buy have a “Box Tops 4 Education” symbol on the top of the box. Simply clip off the part of the box top with the symbol and turn it in to Valerie at Ella Baker. The school receives $0.10 per top, and it adds up if a lot of people turn them in.
