Ella Baker Students Attend Manice - Spring 2019

Manice Education Center offers 3-day field trips in the spring and fall to connect the classroom learning of our Winter Ecology Program and the many opportunities for learning and growth in a wilderness classroom.

The MEC curriculum is tailored for each school and focuses on ecology and wilderness survival, as well as leadership trainings in communication and critical thinking. Our lessons provide an engaging hands-on enrichment to the NYC Dept. of Education Scope and Sequence and help improve academic proficiency in science, math and analytical skills. Equally important, they foster trust in peers and adults, and cooperation and interdependence within the group — qualities that return with the students to the school community setting.
